In time, TYCS will be more than just a forum. Ultimately our goal is turn TYCS into a full fledged non-profit organization. In pursuit of that, we've started some of the steps that will be necessary in order to file for NPO status. That includes laying out our services, policies, and procedures. I thought ya'll might like to know what exactly we want TYCS to DO once we're completely up and running!
So here is the outline of the services we plan to offer. This list will likely get altered, abridged, expanded and edited as we move forward with the process, but this is what we hope you can all look forward to from TYCS in the future:
Section A: FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
1. Fundraising:
-Organization Events
-Crews to help members with individual fundraisers
-a kit with lit on how to host successful fundraisers,
-lists of corporate chains that will hold fundraising days
-tips, tricks, and pitfalls of online fundraising
-lists of sites that offer individual fundraising (like gofundme.com)
2. Donations:
-Kickstarter
-Indigogo
-GoFundMe
-Paypal
3. Shop:
-TYCS merch (currently Cafe Press)
-Ribbon Jewelry
-Made by Members section
-most proceeds from MBM section goes to member who created item
4. Patient/Survivor Direct Assistance
-Direct payment to treatment centers/doctors/hospitals
-Bill Assistance (electric, rent, cell etc)
-Medication Assistance
-Providing cell phones if needed
-Members apply for assistance needed
-specify needs
-estimated amount of need
-where payments should be disbursed (for example, if I applied I’d need $4k to go to Methodist Dallas for my first D&C and could be dispersed there directly).
-Need someone to liaise with billing departments and accounting departments to create a system for easy payment on behalf of approved petitioners.

-Start building with online forum
-Network of major cities
-Work with Cancer Centers to create groups SPECIFICALLY for younger patients

-Big Sister/Little Sister pairings if possible (experienced, inexperienced)

-Item in the shop available to purchase or donate to members
